Completed work on the ORP “Hydrograf” and ORP “Nawigator” vessels.

On 9 September 2022, the Agreement concluded with the Ministry of National Defence on 7 December 2017 for the “delivery, installation and integration of reconnaissance systems on the ORP ‘Hydrograf’ and ORP ‘Nawigator’ vessels, as well as the major and dock repairs of the ORP ‘Hydrograf’” was formally completed.

The Agreement was implemented by a Consortium consisting of: Gdańska Stocznia “Remontowa” im. J. Piłsudskiego S.A. — Consortium leader, KenBIT Sp. z o.o., and AMT Technologies Sp. z o.o. sp. k.

KenBIT was responsible for the delivery, installation and integration of reconnaissance systems on the above two Polish Navy reconnaissance vessels — ORP Hydrograf and ORP Nawigator. Under this scope, KenBIT was responsible for the design, delivery and integration of the Broadband Reconnaissance System (SSR), the Shipboard Opto-electronic System (OSO) (only for ORP Hydrograf), and their integration with the modernised Reconnaissance Command and Control System (SDR) of the vessels.

Within the SSR scope, KenBIT supplied a unique radio reconnaissance system that significantly deep-modernised the capabilities of the above radio reconnaissance vessels. It has no equivalent on the domestic market and represents a novel approach to building modern, future-oriented electronic warfare systems. The SSR is intended for monitoring maritime areas and for analysing and archiving reconnaissance data using COMINT sensors. In this area, it provides the capability for automatic, semi-automatic, as well as manual searching, detecting, processing, classifying, demodulating, intercepting, direction-finding, analysing and recording radio transmissions in the HF and VHF bands.

In the domain of opto-electronic reconnaissance, KenBIT met the advanced requirements of the Polish Navy by, in cooperation with the UK-based company Chess Dynamics, delivering a versatile system using an advanced opto-electronic turret. It integrates day-light cameras, infrared cameras, and a maritime laser rangefinder. The OSO is designed for continuous detection, identification and tracking of surface, coastal and air targets, as well as for conducting opto-electronic reconnaissance under all hydrometeorological conditions.

The aforementioned reconnaissance systems make use of the receive-antenna system and the emergency power supply system modernised as part of the Agreement.

At present, the delivered systems are maintained on an ongoing basis by qualified KenBIT personnel in direct cooperation with the crews of the above radio reconnaissance vessels.
