Navigational Signal Switch

NSS 4/1

The NSS 4/1 Navigational Signal Switch is a device intended for installation in the navigation systems of vessels. It allows the operator to manually manage the transmission of navigational data from devices of the same type, e.g. GPS receivers, logs, echo sounders etc. to receivers, as well as automatic source selection based on selected criteria (quality validation, fault detection). The operator has the ability to preview and compare data received from four independent signal sources, which are displayed on separate 3.2” displays. On this basis, the operator can decide from which source the data is to be retransmitted as a uniform navigational signal for all receivers on the vessel (repeaters, autopilot, positioning system, etc.)

The displays used in the NSS 4/1 Navigational Signal Switch have high contrast, adjustable brightness and can operate in Day/Night mode taking into account sunrises and sunsets in the astronomical calendar mode.

  • The device software is created on the basis of specific user requirements and the vessel's specifications.

Thanks to this, cooperation with any navigational device featuring an NMEA 0183 interface is possible, including the conversion of frames and transmission speeds. It is possible to detect the lack of input signal as well as outdated data and to define algorithms for selecting the signal with the most favourable parameters.

  • The power supply and inputs are galvanically isolated from the outputs.
  • The device is available in a wall-mounted (ceiling) version, with VESA 75×75 mounting, as well as a desktop version.
