Broadband Radio Signal Spectrum Monitoring System

SSMWSR

Broadband Radio Signal Spectrum Monitoring System. The SSR is designed for searching, interception and analysis of radio emissions. The system allows for continuous monitoring of the radio signal spectrum in 24/7 operating mode. During operation, the system performs tasks automatically, solely under the supervision of the managing administrator, and the system's results can be viewed at any time.

System capabilities

  • Radio frequency spectrum monitoring

  • Broad-spectral multi-criteria analysis

  • Archiving of reconnaissance data acquired using COMINT sensors

  • Analysis of acquired (OFFLINE) data of narrowband and broadband signals

In the frequency range from 1MHz to 6GHz the system provides:

  • Searching
  • Detection
  • Direction finding
  • Interception
  • Recording and archiving
  • Processing
  • Classification
  • Demodulation
  • Decoding
  • Analysis

System kernel

Demodulation of analogue radio signals FM,AM,LSB,USB,CW

Demodulation and decoding of digital radio signals A1A, F1B, (2FSK), F7B(4FSK), 2PSK, 4PSK, 8PSK, 2DPSK, 4DQPSK, F3E, H3E, H7D, J7D, J3E, 12CPSK, BURST, CHIRP, OFDM in the form of text files - in the case of decoding radio signals, the selection of appropriate decoders is necessary

Data export to external media in the form of *.wav, (I/Q)

Defining white and black lists, priority lists

Tools allowing for the creation of classifiers

Visualisation of processing (analysis) status

Extraction of narrowband channels from a broadband recording and determination of their parameters through analysis of the waterfall display at the workstation (graphical analysis) as well as through selection of detected signals from the database

Conducting independent interception at operator workstations

System management from the administrative workstation

Additional functionalities

  • Scanning of up to 1000 radio channels
  • Simultaneous analysis of signals during broadband WBIQ recording
  • Parallel operation of operators and the system
  • Access at operator workstations to functions and tools for signal analysis of acquired data, including:

signal waveforms as a function of time, power spectral density analysis, signal selection based on defined criteria, the ability to independently configure interfaces and select signal analysis tools (filters, demodulators, oscilloscopes, waterfall, etc.)

  • (ONLINE) recording and registration of narrowband signals, (OFFLINE) analysis
  • Real-time signal recording and archiving (registration)
  • Definition of:

deletion, flagging of data stored on the data array, time parameter for sample stream recording (default 60 s.)

  • Determination of the following radio emission parameters:

centre frequency, signal bandwidth, modulation type and modulation parameters (e.g. symbol rate of the applied modulation, frequency deviation, matching the decoder to the radio emission)
